Home Depot 4th of July sale: what goes on sale and how to stack savings

Home Depot's 4th of July sale usually runs for about two weeks from late June into the second week of July, and in 2026 appliance markdowns were reported at up to 40% to 45%. The sale price can be combined with a few store programs, but holiday prices are excluded from price matching and price adjustments.

When the Home Depot 4th of July sale runs

Home Depot treats the Fourth of July as one of its summer sale events, and the window has been fairly steady. In 2026, House Digest reported the sale running from June 25 to July 9. The Dealnews listing for the appliance part of the event gave an end date of July 8, 2026, so the exact last day can differ by category. In 2025, press coverage said the event ran through Wednesday, July 9.

At the time of checking (October 2026), the 2026 sale was over. The next large Home Depot event on the PickedBox sales calendar is Black Friday, which runs from early November into early December. If you are planning a summer 2027 purchase, a reasonable guess is a start in the last week of June, but Home Depot does not announce dates far ahead.

What past years looked like

The headline discount moves a little each year, but the shape of the sale repeats: big appliance markdowns, a buy-more incentive on appliance packages, and smaller cuts on tools, grills and outdoor gear.

YearReported appliance discountOther details reported
2022Up to 40% off select appliancesExtra savings when buying two or more qualifying appliances (from the 2022 version of this guide)
2025Up to 50% across categories, appliances includedRan through July 9, 2025, in stores and online (NBC Select, as summarized in search results)
2026Up to 40% (House Digest) or up to 45% (Dealnews)Buy more, save more: up to $1,000 off when buying four or more appliances; free delivery on many items; 1,000+ appliances listed

The "up to" figure applies to a small number of models. Most appliances in the event sat at smaller markdowns, so check the price of the exact model you want rather than the banner number.

What goes on sale, with 2026 examples

These are prices reported by press coverage during the 2026 event. They show the size of the cuts, not prices you can get now.

  • Refrigerators. Dealnews listed an LG 28 cu. ft. 3-door French door refrigerator at $1,699, down from $3,099. Good Morning America listed a GE 27 cu. ft. French door model at $1,559.05, down from $2,599, on July 2, 2026.
  • Dishwashers and ranges. Dealnews listed a GE 24-inch built-in dishwasher at $429 (from $749) and a GE 30-inch electric range at $629 (from $929).
  • Laundry. House Digest reported an LG front-load washer and electric dryer set at $1,508, down from $2,598.
  • Tools. GMA listed a Ryobi ONE+ 18V six-tool combo kit at $199, down from $299.
  • Grills and cooling. A Nexgrill four-burner propane grill was listed at $199 (from $249), and a DREO 8,000 BTU portable air conditioner at $494.99 (from $549.99).

Tool discounts during the Fourth of July event tend to be modest. Home Depot runs Ryobi Days in mid to late July, with cuts of up to 57% on tools plus free tool offers reported by Dealnews, so a planned tool purchase may be better timed a few weeks later.

2026 sale prices: LG fridge $1,699 from $3,099, GE dishwasher $429 from $749, GE range $629 from $929, LG laundry set $1,508, Ryobi kit $199 from $299.

How to stack savings on top of the sale price

Home Depot sale prices are applied automatically, so the question is what else can come off. These are the programs Home Depot publishes, as listed in October 2026.

  • Consumer Credit Card first purchase. New accounts get $25 off $25 or more, $50 off $300 or more, or $100 off $1,000 or more on the first purchase, plus six-month financing on $299 or more, per the Home Depot credit center. On a $1,500 appliance package, that is the largest add-on saving available. The card only saves money if the balance is paid off within the promotional period.
  • Email sign-up. New subscribers get a $5 offer by email. Small, but it applies to any order.
  • Military discount. Verified service members, veterans and spouses get 10% off select purchases, with a $400 yearly cap, per the military page. Most appliances are excluded, so it helps more on grills, tools and patio items.
  • Pro Xtra. The Pro Xtra program is free to join and is aimed at contractors, but anyone can sign up. It offers up to 20% off paint through Paint Rewards and spend-based Perks once qualifying purchases pass $2,500 in a program period. It does not add a discount to holiday appliance prices.

Promo codes are rare at Home Depot. PickedBox lists the few current ones on the Home Depot coupon page, with notes on how many shoppers reported them working, and most savings come from marked-down prices instead.

Home Depot add-ons: card first purchase $25 off $25, $50 off $300 or $100 off $1,000, a $5 email offer, 10% military discount with a $400 cap.

Price match and price adjustment during the sale

Price matching is where many July shoppers get turned down. The Home Depot price match page states that it does not match prices from promotions like Black Friday, flash sales or special holiday discounts. That works in both directions.

SituationWhat the policy says
Lowe's has a lower Fourth of July priceHoliday promotions are excluded, so a sale price at a competitor is unlikely to be matched. Regular prices from Lowe's, Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Menards can be, when sold and shipped by the retailer.
You bought in mid June and the item drops in the salePrice adjustments are offered within 30 days of purchase, but products bought during promotional events, clearance items and special orders are excluded. A purchase made before the sale may qualify; ask with your receipt.
The price drops again after you buy in the salePurchases made during a promotional event are on the excluded list, so expect a refusal.
Bulk or contractor pricingNot eligible for price matching.

The practical step: if you buy an appliance in June, keep the receipt and watch the price for 30 days. That is the one case where the sale can still help after you pay.

Appliance delivery and return rules to know first

Big appliance discounts come with short return windows. The Home Depot return policy says that for major appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers and over-the-range or built-in microwaves, you must contact Customer Solutions within 48 hours of delivery (excluding weekends) for damage or defects, and returns in these categories, even unopened ones, must be made within 48 hours. Most other merchandise has 90 days.

Inspect the appliance before you accept delivery and tell the driver about any damage. Measure the opening, the doorways and the path into the kitchen or laundry room before ordering, because a fridge that does not fit is still a 48-hour problem.

Delivery is free on many sale appliances and on over 2 million items overall, but oversized or heavy orders can cost up to $55 or $79 depending on size and location. Check the delivery line on the product page, since it can erase part of a smaller discount.

Which sale fits which purchase

For a major appliance, the Fourth of July event is one of the stronger windows, along with Labor Day and Black Friday, which press reports put at up to 45% off tools, appliances and holiday decor. Compare the July price of your model with its Labor Day price if you can wait eight weeks. For tools, Ryobi Days in July and Black Friday have usually beaten the Fourth of July cuts. For grills and patio furniture, July is late in the season; Spring Black Friday in April often has more stock, while end-of-summer clearance can be cheaper with less choice.

Lowe's runs its own Fourth of July event on appliances in the same weeks. Since holiday prices are not matched, compare both stores on the same model number and buy where the total, delivery included, is lower. Current Lowe's offers are on the Lowe's coupon page.

How we checked this

In October 2026 PickedBox read Home Depot's official price match and price check page, return policy, Pro Xtra page, credit center and military discount page. Sale dates and 2026 sale prices come from press coverage published during the event (House Digest, Dealnews, Good Morning America), not from Home Depot, because the sale page is no longer live. The 2025 figures come from NBC Select coverage as shown in search results; the article itself did not open. The 2022 row uses data from the earlier version of this guide. Nothing here reflects a purchase made by PickedBox.
