How to pay less on AliExpress in 2026: coupons, Choice and bundle deals

How AliExpress discounts stack

AliExpress is Alibaba Group's international marketplace. Most sellers are based in China, and items marked Choice are shipped and handled by AliExpress itself. Discounts come in layers, and knowing which ones combine is most of the savings:

1. Sale prices on the item. Welcome Deals for new shoppers, SuperDeals daily markdowns and Dollar Express items priced from about $0.50 to $3.
2. One sitewide promo code. AliExpress publishes tiered codes each month. Only one works per order.
3. Seller coupons. Issued by individual stores and collected from the store page or the Coupon Center.
4. Coins. AliExpress's own reward currency, collected in the app and spent as a small discount at checkout.

According to the store details PickedBox keeps for AliExpress, the one sitewide code can be combined with seller coupons, Welcome Deals and coins on the same order.

AliExpress promo codes: tiered, one per order

AliExpress's codes are tiered by order size. The October 2026 US set, published by AliExpress in a press release on Sep 30, 2026, runs from $2 off a $15 order up to $80 off a $559 order, valid through October 31. New US customers have separate first-order codes worth $3, $5 or $12, valid through Dec 31, 2026, according to the store data PickedBox keeps for AliExpress.

Three points decide whether a code works:

• The minimum is checked after other discounts. If seller coupons and coins pull the subtotal under the threshold, the code drops out. Add a small item or pick the next tier down.
• Some codes only apply to sale-labeled items, and many have a cap on total uses or one use per customer.
• The percentage changes by tier. $3 off $10 is 30%, $14 off $99 is about 14% and $80 off $559 is about 14%. A small add-on is worth it when it lifts the cart into the next tier, but a large cart gains little from being split into smaller orders.

PickedBox lists 14 active AliExpress codes on the AliExpress coupon page (last checked Oct 13, 2026), with the thresholds and end dates for each.

The row below is the same row as on the AliExpress page. The code appears after the click; AliExpress opens in a new tab.

Seller coupons, select coupons and coins

Seller coupons are set by each store, for example a few dollars off once the order from that one store passes a minimum. They show on the product page under the price and on the store's home page. Collect them before adding items to the cart, because they do not always apply on their own.

Select coupons is the name shoppers use for the cross-store coupons AliExpress runs around large sales. They only work on items that carry the eligible label, and they usually come as a fixed amount off for every set spend. Check the label on each item before relying on one.

Coins are earned through daily check-ins and small games in the AliExpress app and are worth only a small discount per order. They are useful for trimming a total under a code threshold, not for large savings. AliExpress does not publish a fixed coin-to-dollar rate on a public page, so the value shown at checkout is the one to trust.

AliExpress Choice: free shipping and easier returns

Choice items are stocked and shipped by AliExpress rather than by the seller. The Alibaba Group Choice description lists free shipping on orders over $10 or three items in most markets, with delivery typically in 10 to 15 days.

Returns are the other reason to favor Choice. Choice items can be returned free up to three times a month within 15 days of delivery. For non-Choice items, shipping and return terms are set by each seller and vary by listing, so read the listing before buying anything bulky or fragile.

AliExpress also runs Choice Day in the first week of every month, with tiered sitewide codes and markdowns on Choice items. In October 2026 it ran Oct 1 to 7.

Bundle deals and buying more than one

Two features reward buying several items at once:

• Bundle Deals. A section in the app and on the site where picking several items from the same bundle lowers the price per item. Because Choice ships free from $10 or three items, small bundle orders often clear the shipping line too.
• Multi-unit prices. Many listings show a lower unit price when two or more of the same item are ordered. The step and the minimum quantity vary by seller.

Both are useful for cheap basics such as cables, phone cases or craft supplies. They are less useful when the extra units would go unused, since a lower unit price on something not needed is still money spent.

When AliExpress prices drop: 11.11 and the sales calendar

The 11.11 Singles' Day sale in November is the largest of the year. In 2025 it ran Nov 11 to 19, with one-use tiered codes. AliExpress had not posted official 2026 dates at the time of checking (Oct 18, 2026), though shopper calendars expect a similar window. Black Friday and Cyber Monday follow, with a coupon warm-up period before the sale.

A practical approach is to add wanted items to the cart a few weeks early. That makes it easy to see whether the sale price is lower than the regular one, and some sellers raise list prices before a sale so that the markdown looks bigger.

US import duty after the de minimis change

For years, US orders under $800 entered duty free under the de minimis rule. That ended for China and Hong Kong in May 2025 and for all countries on Aug 29, 2025. On Jun 24, 2026, US Customs and Border Protection published a rule in the Federal Register making the suspension indefinite, and a 2025 law repeals the exemption outright from Jul 1, 2027. The Supreme Court's February 2026 ruling against tariffs imposed under emergency powers did not restore duty-free entry for small parcels.

For a shopper this means duty applies to AliExpress orders of any size. Some listings show an import charge line at checkout, and some orders may be billed by the carrier on delivery. Compare the final checkout total, not the item price, and expect very small orders to carry a higher share of fees.

When another store costs less

AliExpress is usually cheapest for small accessories and generic items where a two-week wait is fine. For branded goods, the same item from a US seller can cost about the same once duty and the longer return window are counted. Check the eBay coupon page for US-based sellers and the AliExpress coupon page for the current tiered codes before placing a large order.

How we checked this

In October 2026, PickedBox compared this guide with its AliExpress store data (researched Oct 13, 2026), which draws on AliExpress's Sep 30, 2026 press release for the October codes, the Alibaba Group Choice document and the Slickdeals AliExpress guide for returns and sale timing. The US de minimis status was checked against the Federal Register notice of Jun 24, 2026. AliExpress help pages block automated access, so program details could not be read from them directly. Nothing was ordered for this guide.
