StubHub discount codes in 2026: what exists and how to pay less

StubHub rarely issues public discount codes, and no code on file at PickedBox was confirmed working in October 2026. The savings that hold up come from comparing all-in prices with fees switched on, setting price alerts in the app, using Wallet credit and buying at the right time.

Is there a StubHub discount code that works?

Usually not. StubHub is a resale marketplace, and sellers set the ticket prices. StubHub's own help pages say it cannot ask a seller to lower a price, which leaves little room for sitewide codes. The codes that do circulate are mostly old promotions: past examples include 10% or 25% off tickets and $10 off $100 when paying with Apple Pay.

PickedBox keeps a record of StubHub codes on the StubHub coupon page. At the time of checking (October 2026), every code on file was marked expired. Several coupon sites list StubHub codes too, but none of the ones reviewed showed a dated confirmation that the code worked at checkout.

If you do get a code, for example by email, it goes in at checkout on the Select Payment Method page. Credits and coupons tied to your account appear under Gift Card, where you tick the one you want to apply.

New customer offers: what StubHub publishes

StubHub's own site and help pages did not advertise a sign-up discount or first-order discount in October 2026. Coupon aggregators list first-order offers, often $20 off with a minimum order of $100 or more, but PickedBox could not find any of them on a StubHub page, and the expiry dates shown were already past or unconfirmed.

Two things new buyers do get on every order:

  • FanProtect Guarantee. Tickets arrive in time for the event, or StubHub provides comparable replacements or your money back.
  • Payment choice. StubHub accepts major cards, StubHub gift cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and some buyers see Afterpay. Splitting a payment does not lower the price, so treat it as cash-flow help, not a discount.

Treat any first-order code from a third-party site as a bonus if it works, not as the price you plan around.

Turn on the fee display before you compare

The biggest gap between the price you see and the price you pay is the fee. StubHub's fee page says there is no set percentage. Buyers pay a service fee and a fulfillment fee, and both change with ticket price, time to the event and demand.

To see totals, open the event, select Filters and switch on Include estimated fees under Price Display Options. The Review and buy page then shows the full cost under Your order summary.

The law now pushes the same way. The FTC's fees rule took effect on May 12, 2025 and requires live-event ticket sellers to show the total price, including mandatory fees, up front. On April 9, 2026, the FTC announced a $10 million StubHub settlement covering U.S. purchases made between May 12 and May 14, 2025, when listings did not show the full price, as summarized by JD Supra. StubHub disputed the FTC's view but agreed to refund part of those fees.

Price alerts in the StubHub app

A price alert is the closest thing StubHub has to a discount tool. StubHub's help article on price alerts describes the steps:

  1. Open the event in the StubHub app.
  2. Tap the clock icon with a dollar sign next to the event name.
  3. Choose the number of tickets and, if you like, a seating zone.
  4. Enter the most you want to pay per ticket and save.

You can edit or delete alerts from the Profile tab under Price alerts. StubHub says alerts work only in the app, not on the website. On the website, the price slider does a similar job by hiding listings above your budget.

Last-minute tickets: when waiting helps

Waiting can pay off, but only for some events. When an event has plenty of unsold listings in its final days, sellers compete and some cut their prices. StubHub's fees also shift with time to the event, so the total can change even when the list price does not.

Waiting tends to backfire for sold-out tours, playoff games and small venues. Supply is thin, and prices can rise as the date approaches.

Two checks before you wait:

  • Delivery method. Most StubHub tickets arrive as mobile transfers or e-tickets. Late purchases depend on the seller sending them in time, which FanProtect covers if they do not arrive.
  • Final sale. StubHub orders cannot be changed, canceled or returned. Rescheduled events keep tickets valid with no refund.

Official box office or resale: which costs less

The box office sells at face value plus its own fees, and resale sites sell at whatever sellers ask. Neither is always cheaper. For a high-demand show, face value at the box office is usually the lowest price, if you can get a ticket at all. For a weeknight game or a slow-selling concert, resale listings can drop below face value.

Many teams and leagues also name an official resale partner. Major League Baseball, for example, links to SeatGeek for buying and selling on MLB.com. Comparing the same section on StubHub, SeatGeek and the box office, with fees switched on everywhere, is the only reliable test.

Other ways to pay less on StubHub

These steps come from StubHub's own policies and lower the cost whether or not a code is live:

  • Use Wallet credit and gift cards. Apply them at checkout under Gift Card.
  • Resell instead of losing the money. If you can no longer go, relist tickets bought on StubHub with no fees, even before they arrive.
  • Pick credit on a canceled event if you will buy again. StubHub's canceled event policy gives Wallet credit worth 120% of what you paid, valid for one year, or a cash refund to the original payment method on request.
  • Set a budget filter. The price slider and alerts keep you from paying more than you planned.

How we checked this

In October 2026, PickedBox reviewed StubHub's support pages on fees, canceled events, payment methods and price alerts, the StubHub record on the PickedBox store page, several coupon aggregator listings and coverage of the April 2026 FTC settlement. The stubhub.com storefront returned a block page, so StubHub's own promotions could only be checked through its help pages. No tickets were bought for this guide.
