How much a vending machine costs in 2026: new, used and where to buy
A new full-size vending machine costs roughly $3,700 to $8,500 in 2026, and Sam's Club listed Selectivend models from $3,728 to $7,523 with freight included in October 2026. Used machines start around $1,200 in private sales, but repairs, card readers and stock add to the real cost.

Vending machine cost by type
Prices depend on three things: whether the machine has refrigeration, how many selections it holds, and whether it takes cards. Vending.com, a national equipment dealer, publishes these ranges on its cost page, read in October 2026:
| Machine | Used | New |
|---|---|---|
| Snack machine | $2,750 to $4,850 | $3,700 to $6,500 |
| Drink or soda machine | $3,250 to $5,150 | $5,600 to $8,500 |
| Combo (snack and drink) | $3,300 to $5,250 | $5,400 to $8,300 |
| Smart cooler | $3,800 to $8,650 | $4,200 to $10,800 |
Treat these as dealer prices. A dealer's used machine has usually been cleaned and repaired. Private sales and auctions run lower: another dealer, VMFS, cites NerdWallet's figure of $1,200 to $3,000 for a used machine on the open market.
Sam's Club vending machine prices
Sam's Club sells new Selectivend machines in its drink and snack machines section. Prices shown on Oct 18, 2026:
| Machine | Price from |
|---|---|
| SV3000 23-selection snack | $3,728 |
| Refreshment Center combo snack and drink | $4,198 |
| WS5000 40-selection snack with card reader | $5,244 |
| WS4000 32-selection snack | $5,200 |
| Advantage Plus ADA compliant combo | $5,228 |
| CB500 10-selection drink | $5,644 |
| CB500 Gatorade drink | $5,948 |
| Evolution 28-selection refrigerated water | $6,498 |
| Evolution 38-selection refrigerated combo | $7,148 |
Most models come in versions with and without a card reader. On the Refreshment Center combo, the card reader version cost $4,608, or $410 more. The product page listed freight shipping as included in the price, a 650 lb shipping weight and a 30-day return or replacement window. The machines ship only; club pickup was not available.
These prices sit at the low end of the new ranges above, which makes Sam's Club a reasonable benchmark when you get a quote from a dealer.

Buying a used vending machine: where and what to check
Used machines turn up on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, eBay, equipment auctions and route sales, where an operator sells several machines at once. Dealers also sell refurbished machines with a short warranty for more money.
The VMFS used machine guide points out that age matters less than the parts inside. Before you pay, check:
- Refrigeration. On a drink or combo machine, a failed compressor is the most expensive single repair. Ask to see it cold.
- Payment hardware. A machine with a modern controller can take a card reader; an old coin-only board may not.
- Parts. Look up the model number. Discontinued models with scarce boards or motors are hard to keep running.
- Every selection. Run a test vend on each row and feed it bills and coins.
- Moving. Full-size machines weigh several hundred pounds. Price the move before you agree on the machine.
The costs after you buy the machine
The machine is only the first bill. Vending.com's cost page gives these planning figures:
- First load of stock: $200 to $800.
- Delivery: $200 to $1,000 when it is not included, more with stairs.
- Upkeep: $200 to $600 a year for cleaning coils and servicing the coin changer, plus about $500 set aside for repairs.
- Electricity: a cold drink machine can use $20 to $50 a month; snack machines use far less.
Card readers usually carry a monthly service fee and a fee on each transaction, set by the payment provider. Ask for both numbers before you choose a reader. You may also need a business license, a sales tax permit and an agreement with the property owner on commission; rules depend on your city and state.
Stock is where a warehouse club helps. Sam's Club listed a 40-pack of Lance sandwich crackers at $8.98 and a 60-pack of Snyder's mini pretzels at $14.98 on Oct 18, 2026, roughly 22 to 25 cents a bag.

The Selectivend rebate at Sam's Club
Sam's Club runs a Vending Rebate Program with Selectivend. The program terms say that after buying a qualifying Selectivend machine, you buy listed snacks and drinks at Sam's Club, then send the receipts and the machine's serial number to Selectivend within six months of receiving the machine. Selectivend refunds what you spent on those products dollar for dollar, excluding shipping, sales tax and deposits.
The rebate can be submitted only once, so keep every receipt until you are ready to claim. The terms document on the Sam's Club site is dated 2018 and lists specific item numbers, so call Selectivend at 1-800-323-8793 to confirm the current list before you buy stock.
How to pay less for a vending machine at Sam's Club
You need a Sam's Club membership to buy. Since May 1, 2026 a Club membership costs $60 a year and Plus costs $120. PickedBox lists the current offers on the Sam's Club coupon page; Sam's Club rarely issues promo codes, so most savings come from these:
- Sam's Cash with Plus. Plus members earn 2% Sam's Cash on qualifying purchases, up to $750 a year. On a $4,198 machine that would be about $84, if the item qualifies.
- Community membership offers. Military members, veterans, first responders, teachers, students, seniors 50 and over and some other groups can join at a discount after ID.me verification. New members only.
- Sale timing. Sam's Club runs savings events in July, around Labor Day and in Black Friday week, and Instant Savings markdowns rotate every month.
- The rebate. Buying first-load stock from the rebate list can return the cost of that stock.
- Card offer. The product page advertised a $30 statement credit for opening a Sam's Club credit card account and spending $30 within 30 days.
The row below is the same row as on the Sam's Club page. Sam's Club opens in a new tab.
Who a new machine makes sense for
A new machine fits a buyer with a confirmed location, such as an office, gym or apartment building that has agreed to host it, and no interest in repairs. A used machine fits someone testing an unproven spot or comfortable fixing coin mechanisms and motors. In both cases, line up the location before you buy: a machine without a good site costs money every month and earns nothing.
How we checked this
On Oct 18, 2026, PickedBox read the Sam's Club drink and snack machines listing, one product page, the Vending Rebate Program page and its terms document, and the membership facts on the PickedBox store page. samsclub.com blocks automated requests, so the pages were read through a text reader and prices may differ in club. Price ranges come from two equipment dealers, Vending.com and VMFS, which also sell machines. No machine was bought for this guide.
