Left-facing sectional sofas in 2026: 6 picks by price and where to buy

Six left-facing sectionals at a glance

The six picks run from a budget chaise sofa to a mid-priced left-chaise model from a direct-to-consumer brand. Prices were seen on the seller's own site on Oct 18, 2026, unless marked, and they change with fabric and color.

The 2020 version of this list linked ten sofas through shortened Amazon links that no longer say where they lead. Two of its names are still on sale from the maker: the Modway Empress, now marked as a closeout, and Ashley, which still sells sectionals with left-arm chaises. The rest were replaced with models whose makers publish sizes and prices.

What left-facing means, and why sellers disagree

Furniture stores use two abbreviations: LAF for left-arm facing and RAF for right-arm facing. American Furniture Warehouse explains that both describe where the arm sits when you stand in front of the piece and face it. So on a sectional with an LAF chaise, the chaise is on your left as you look at the sofa, which means it is on your right once you sit down.

That is where returns start. Brands do not all use the same words. Article lists the Rhett as a "Left Arm Chaise Sectional", Modway says "Left-Facing", and IKEA names the HYLTARP "sofa w chaise, left". Before ordering, open the product drawing and check which side the long piece is on when the sofa faces you.

Three checks help before buying:

• Stand where the TV or the main view will be, face the wall the sofa will sit against, and note which side has room for the chaise.
• Measure the doorway, hallway and any stair turn. A sectional comes in two or more boxes, and the largest piece must fit through.
• If the room may change, a sofa whose chaise moves from one side to the other, such as IKEA's KIVIK and MANNARP, costs nothing extra and removes the risk of ordering the wrong hand.

Under $700: IKEA MANNARP sofa with chaise

The IKEA MANNARP sofa with chaise was $649 on ikea.com on Oct 18, 2026, in Gunnared beige. Other covers were $749. IKEA says the chaise can sit on the left or the right, and the line also allows one on each side or two on the same side.

IKEA lists the MANNARP at 90 1/8 in wide and 37 3/8 in deep, with the chaise reaching 63 in deep. The seat is 18 1/8 in high, and the chaise seat is 46 1/2 in deep. It ships as eight packages, so there is home assembly.

Who it is for: a first apartment or a den where the budget is under $700 and the chaise side may change after a move.

Around $1,250: Ashley, Modway and IKEA KIVIK

Ashley Clairette Court 2-piece with LAF chaise

Ashley sells many of its sectionals in both LAF and RAF versions, which suits shoppers who want a fixed left chaise. Ashley's own site blocked automated checks, so the price here comes from Coleman Furniture, an online Ashley dealer, which listed the Clairette Court Alloy 2 Piece Sectional with LAF Chaise at $1,225, down from $1,550, on Oct 18, 2026. The RAF version was the same price. Ashley stores and ashleyfurniture.com may show a different figure.

Modway Empress left-facing sectional

The Modway Empress Left-Facing Upholstered Fabric Sectional Sofa was $1,232.24 on modway.com, marked as a closeout. Modway lists it at 99.5 in wide, 60.5 in deep and 34 in high, made of a left-side chaise and a loveseat with tufted buttons. Modway's page showed free shipping by freight, 30-day returns and a transit time of about three to four weeks. A closeout can sell out, and the page warned that few were left.

IKEA KIVIK 4-seat sectional with chaise

The IKEA KIVIK sectional, 4-seat with chaise started at $1,249 in Tibbleby beige-gray, with other covers from $1,299 to $1,499. IKEA says the chaise can be placed on the left or right and switched later, and the seat cushions use pocket springs. It measures up to 125 1/4 in wide and 64 1/8 in deep at the chaise.

Who it is for: buyers who want a full-size sectional and are ready to choose between a fixed left chaise (Ashley, Modway) and a movable one (KIVIK).

From $1,500: Article Rhett and IKEA HYLTARP

Article Rhett 93" Left Chaise Sectional

The Article Rhett 93" Left Chaise Sectional was $1,599 on article.com on Oct 18, 2026, in Pepper Ivory. Article lists it at 93 in wide, 68 in deep and 33.5 in high, with an 18 in seat height and a 21 in seat depth. The frame is solid pine, poplar and rubberwood engineered wood, the cushions are foam, and the fabric is a polyester and acrylic blend. Article says assembly takes about 20 minutes and gives buyers 30 days to try the sofa.

Article's left-facing page also listed the Abisko 94.5" Left Sectional at $1,599 and the Timber 93" Left Sectional at $1,899, so the brand has several choices around this price.

IKEA HYLTARP sofa with chaise, left

The IKEA HYLTARP sofa with chaise, left was $1,749 in Gransel natural, and $1,799 in other covers. Unlike the KIVIK, it is sold in a fixed left version, so check IKEA's drawing for the side. IKEA lists it at 103 1/8 in wide, 36 5/8 in deep and 63 3/4 in deep at the chaise, with a removable cover.

Who it is for: a living room where the sofa will stay put for years and a fixed left chaise is the plan.

Delivery and returns: the costs after the price tag

A sectional is heavy and bulky, so the return policy matters as much as the price. Here is what each seller showed in October 2026:

• Wayfair: most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, and return shipping is usually charged. Clearance and items marked non-returnable are final sale.
• IKEA: the product pages showed returns within 365 days for a full refund, with conditions marked by an asterisk. IKEA also lists a 10-year warranty on these sofas, with terms in its warranty brochure.
• Article: 30 days to try the sofa.
• Modway: free freight shipping and 30-day returns on the Empress page.
• Overstock: free standard shipping on nearly all orders over $49.99, according to the banner on overstock.com.

Before paying, look for a delivery fee line at checkout, especially for white glove or room-of-choice delivery. Keep the boxes until the sofa is assembled and the chaise is on the side you wanted.

How to pay less on a sectional at Wayfair and elsewhere

Wayfair carries thousands of sectionals, many with a left or right orientation filter. Wayfair's site blocked automated price checks, so no Wayfair sofa prices appear in the table above. The ways to pay less there, from the PickedBox Wayfair store page checked Oct 13, 2026:

• Way Day: Wayfair's largest sale ran April 25-27, 2026, with up to 80% off and free shipping on everything. Wayfair Rewards members got early access.
• Other sale periods: a Surplus Sale in mid to late summer with up to 50% off home essentials, and Labor Day clearance in late August and early September.
• Wayfair Rewards: $29 a year for 5% back in reward dollars and free shipping on every order, with exceptions for Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO boxes and military addresses. On a $1,250 sectional, 5% is about $62 in reward dollars.
• Closeout and open box: closeout deals run up to 80% off and open box items up to 70% off, at marked prices. Closeout is usually final sale, so measure first.
• Shipping: standard shipping is free on most orders over $35, but large items and some locations cost extra.
• Payment: Wayfair takes Affirm, Klarna and Afterpay, which spread the cost but do not lower it.
