HydroSilex Recharge: price, how long a bottle lasts and where to buy

HydroSilex Recharge is still sold, at $19.99 for 8 oz, $35.99 for 16 oz and $199.99 for a gallon on hydrosilex.com in October 2026. The maker suggests 3 to 6 oz per standard car, so a 16 oz bottle covers about two to five full applications, or roughly $7 to $14 per car.

What HydroSilex Recharge is

HydroSilex Recharge is a spray-on ceramic coating made by HydroSilex LLC of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The product page describes it as a DIY ceramic car spray with an SiO2 formula that leaves a slick, glossy, water-repellent layer and protects against UV, oxidation and road contaminants.

The HydroSilex FAQ says it can be used two ways: on its own as protection, or as a maintenance top-up over a professional ceramic coating of any brand. The FAQ lists paint, glass, plastic trim, headlights, tires, bare and stainless metal, fiberglass and paint protection film as suitable surfaces. It also states plainly that Recharge is not designed to resist scratches the way a hard glass coating is.

The same company sells a separate Recharge Interior product for cabin surfaces, plus longer-life coatings called Lit and Chrome that come in 30 ml bottles and cost far more.

At the time of checking (Oct 18, 2026), hydrosilex.com listed these sizes:

16 oz$35.99About $2.25
128 oz (1 gallon)$199.99About $1.56

No sale or compare-at price was shown on the Recharge sizes. The home page tile shows the starting price of $19.99, which is the 8 oz bottle, so check the size selector before comparing prices.

The gallon is the cheapest per ounce, but it only pays off for someone treating several vehicles, a boat or an RV on a regular schedule.

Bar chart of HydroSilex Recharge price per ounce: 8 oz at $19.99 about $2.50, 16 oz at $35.99 about $2.25, gallon at $199.99 about $1.56.

How many cars one bottle covers

The FAQ's application reminders say not to over-spray and suggest 3 to 6 oz of Recharge per standard-size car. Using that range:

  • 8 oz: one to two full applications, about $7.50 to $15 per car.
  • 16 oz: two to five applications, about $6.75 to $13.50 per car.
  • 1 gallon: roughly 21 to 42 applications, about $4.70 to $9.40 per car.

A larger truck or SUV will sit at the top of that range or above it. The FAQ also says to apply one panel at a time on a clean, cool, dry surface, buff right away with one microfiber towel and follow with a second light buff using a clean towel. Applying in direct sun or heat, or letting the product dry on the paint, is listed as something to avoid.

Fact board of coverage at 3 to 6 oz per car: 8 oz gives 1 to 2 applications, 16 oz gives 2 to 5, and a gallon about 21 to 42, from $4.70 to $15 per car.

How long the coating lasts

HydroSilex gives three different figures in different places, so it is worth reading them together:

  • The product page says each application can last 6 to 12 months, depending on use and maintenance.
  • The FAQ says 6 to 8 months, and longer when it is reapplied routinely.
  • The site menu labels Recharge as a 1-year coating.

The FAQ explains that Recharge is designed to be layered, and recommends waiting a week between layers. On a new paint job it asks owners to wait 14 days if the paint was baked or 30 days if it was air dried.

A third-party view: detailing retailer Detailed Image published a follow-up comparison and reported that, in its own trial, Recharge did not clearly outperform a far cheaper spray wax. That article is undated, so the formula may have changed since.

Where to buy HydroSilex and the return terms

hydrosilex.com. The store policies page lists two return routes. The 16 oz Recharge carries a 14-day money-back offer: return it within 14 days for a refund of the price, less shipping. Separately, unused items in original packaging can be returned within 30 days with proof of purchase, again less the original shipping cost. Most US orders ship within 24 to 48 hours on weekdays, according to the same page.

Amazon. HydroSilex Recharge is listed on Amazon, but the Amazon page did not load for PickedBox. A reseller page that mirrors Amazon stock showed the 16 oz bottle at $34.99, down from $39.99, with no date shown. Treat that as a rough guide and compare it with the $35.99 direct price before ordering. Amazon's own return window applies to orders shipped by Amazon.

Cheaper ceramic sprays to compare

Spray ceramics from the big car-care brands work the same way, and some cost much less per bottle:

ProductSizePrice seen
HydroSilex Recharge16 oz$35.99 on hydrosilex.com, Oct 18, 2026
Chemical Guys HydroCharge+16 oz$39.99 on chemicalguys.com, Oct 18, 2026
Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating16 oz$15.00 list on turtlewax.com; past Amazon deals near $10

The Turtle Wax spray costs less than half as much per bottle and is sold in most auto parts and big-box stores. HydroSilex's case rests on its layering design and its use as a top-up over existing ceramic coatings, which its label and FAQ describe in detail.

How to pay less on ceramic spray

  • Buy the 16 oz, not two 8 oz. Two small bottles cost $39.98 against $35.99 for one large one.
  • Compare Amazon with the direct price. Prime members get free shipping on eligible items. See the Amazon coupon page.
  • Check Chemical Guys before buying HydroCharge+. Chemical Guys offers new email subscribers a first-order discount and ships free over $75. See the Chemical Guys coupon page.
  • Big-box stores often carry Turtle Wax and Meguiar's sprays at shelf prices. See the Walmart coupon page.

Who HydroSilex Recharge is for: an owner who already washes and dries the car by hand, wants a spray that can be layered every few weeks or months, or needs a top-up for an existing ceramic coating. Someone who wants the lowest price per bottle will spend less on a mass-market ceramic spray.

How we checked this

On Oct 18, 2026, PickedBox read prices and size options on the HydroSilex Recharge product page, the application and durability guidance in the HydroSilex FAQ, and the return terms on the store policies page. The Chemical Guys price was read from chemicalguys.com the same day. The Turtle Wax list price comes from a search result for turtlewax.com, and past Amazon prices from deal posts. Amazon returned an error, so no live Amazon price is given. No product was bought or applied for this guide.
